The ultimate goal of Good Governance is to develop institutions and processes that are more responsive to the needs of all citizens, including the poor. Through building the capacities of the public sector, UNDP supports Jordan's efforts to promote public participation and foster accountability, transparency, efficiency and effectiveness at all levels.
Governance in Jordan
Jordan’s continued economic, social and political improvement depends greatly on the quality and efficiency of its public service. Its National Agenda has emphasised that major changes are now needed to develop public institutions that are focused on delivering results.
In addition, the National Agenda stipulates that the Government should reinvigorate the political life, promote human rights, empower women and youth and ensure the inclusion of civil society institutions.
